Annandale's Erodibility Index
- To ensure public safety infrastructure requires protection against the effects of scour.
- E&H developed Annandale's Erodibility Index Method that can be used to predict scour in any earth or engineered earth material.
- The method correlates rate of energy dissipation of flowing water to a geo-mechanical index of the material, defining erosion threshold conditions.
- E&H has applied this method to develop bio-engineering and drop structure designs; and to estimate scour at bridge piers, pipelines, and dam spillways, among others.
